Prayer of St Ephraim

O' Lord and Master of my life,
take from me the spirit of sloth,
faint-heartedness,
lust of power,
and idle talk.

But give rather the spirit of chastity,
humility,
patience,
and love to Thy servant.

Yea O' Lord and King
grant me to see my own sins
and not to judge my brother
for Thou art blessed unto ages of ages, Amen.

This is not really a comment about the prayer, which speaks for itself, but I didn't know any other way to contact you. Just came across your blog while searching for a Lent reflection for my blog...I felt a connection to you and your family. It reminded me of mine...we are Orthodox converts trying our best to learn and live an Orthodox life. It is a dream of mine to do a degree in theology so perhaps I will live vicariously through you. :) Anyway...lovely to come across your blog.

Hi Magz! I'm glad you liked my blog, or me, or living vicariously through me. You pick. Let me know if you want to know more about pursuing a degree in theology, though I know very little about universities in the UK.
